Fabiano is an Associated Professor of Physics at the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA), Brazil, and a recipient of a National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) Research Productivity Fellowship. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of São Paulo, with research experience at Technische Universität Berlin, and City University of London.
His research lies at the intersection of statistical physics, complex systems, urban science, and data science, with a particular focus on scaling laws, human mobility, social networks, and the quantitative analysis of cities. He has authored numerous scientific publications on urban scaling, urban morphology, and socioeconomic dynamics, applying methods from complexity theory and computational modeling to understand the structure and evolution of urban systems.
His current research explores how population growth, urban form, social interactions, and infrastructure co-evolve across cities worldwide.
