Steffany M. Santos

Steffany Martins dos Santos is a PhD candidate in Architecture and Urbanism at the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal Fluminense University (PPGAU-UFF), Brazil. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the same institution, where she investigated the effects of green infrastructure on the urban microclimate, focusing on urban heat island mitigation and thermal comfort through microclimatic simulations. Her doctoral research examines how different urban morphologies influence the performance of urban heat island mitigation strategies, integrating microclimatic simulation and urban form analysis. Her main research interests include:

•  Urban microclimate and urban heat island mitigation;
•  The relationship between urban morphology and microclimate;
•  Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions;
•  Simulation-based approaches to urban climate analysis, particularly using ENVI-met;
•  Climate adaptation strategies in urban areas.
